Nursing licensure pacts

Speaker: Victoria Sattler RN, PhD, MN, SANE-A

 

Join LNC Victoria Sattler to learn what nurse licensure compacts are and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). By the end of the presentation, you will better understand how different state boards of nursing function and which jurisdictions are currently part of the NLC. The LNCs frequently will need to access various state boards of nursing in their work, and you will learn some tips and approaches to gaining the necessary information to research litigation in various states.

Emergency Department Malpractice from the Expert’s Perspective

Speaker: Mobola Kukoyi, MD, MPH

 

Join a board-certified emergency medicine physician with expertise in adult and pediatric emergency care and trauma as she shares common themes she sees as an expert in emergency department malpractice cases. Dr. Kukoyi will identify common themes that lead to poor outcomes, such as sepsis, using some case examples and describing how she approaches case reviews as an expert.

LNC Preparation for a Successful Deposition

Speaker: Mary Flanagan BSN, RN, CNOR(E), LNCC

 

Description: LNC Flanagan will define what a deposition is and why the LNC might be deposed, identify the sequence leading up to a deposition, share what to expect as an LNC when deposed, and identify some pitfalls to avoid when testifying and some strategies that can help the LNC testify.

Description: LNC Kress will cover the difference between plaintiff and defense expert reports, help LNC's understand how to compile the three main elements of an expert report, and share how expert reports are used in ligitation.
