Tailored and Timely Nusing Care of a Stroke Patient

Description: ​LNCs recognize that medical management and nursing care of stroke patients can be complex. Updated and additional information about classifications of strokes and other acute neurological injuries is needed to bridge knowledge gaps related to types of strokes, etiology/mechanisms of strokes, neurological anatomy and physiology, and critical clinical correlations. Learners will acquire knowledge about the differences between hyperacute and acute strokes and the nursing care and the treatment actions necessary to take to minimize secondary neuronal injury and minimize other potential complications. Finally, learners will be able to distinguish how best to facilitate optimal patient outcomes in conjunction with an interdisciplinary stroke team.
